Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals
This is based on EC Regulation No. 1907/2006, which came into force on 1 July 2007. It is intended to centralise and simplify chemicals legislation.
This involves the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemical substances. Depending on the role within the supply chain, this results in different obligations. Under REACH, chemical substances are subject to registration, but not the finished product.
The following obligations arise for TronicPool GmbH from this regulation:
- As a supplier of products such as electronic components, electronic devices and their accessories, we do not have to register them under REACH.
- As an importer of an article, we must register substances in articles that are contained in a total quantity of 1 tonne per year and per manufacturer and are released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.
- In accordance with Article 7 of the REACH Regulation, we are obliged to notify the Agency if substances of very high concern (SVHC) (e.g. substances that fulfil the criteria of Article 57) are present in a concentration of more than 0.1% by mass and in a total quantity of more than one tonne per year.
- According to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation, we are obliged to provide the purchasers of articles with sufficient information on the presence of SVHC from the REACH candidate list in a concentration greater than 0.1 per cent by mass to enable the safe use of articles
As a supplier of articles, we will fulfil our information obligations under Article 7 and Article 33 of the REACH Regulation in accordance with our obligations.
However, we refer to the duty of co-operation of the entire supply chain.
As an importer of articles that have already passed through a supply chain or were produced before the regulation came into force or have already been discontinued by the manufacturer, the determination of whether the SVHC content triggers an information obligation is determined by the empirical occurrence of such substances in the same product group. In case of suspicion, a chemical analysis of the article will provide clarity.
We hereby confirm that we fulfil our obligations arising from the REACH regulation to the best of our knowledge and belief.
